From 22ceabd4b5a3ab8790670ffd3ae7f80acc55972e Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: doxa-maps-88655c70 <88627970+doxa-maps-88655c70@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Wed, 23 Sep 2026 18:06:25 +0000 Subject: [PATCH] Stop the pin hint naming a colour the reader may not see The default label was "Tap a red dot -- someone still needs prayer" and it shipped on every map: pinHintLabel is an override no profile has ever set, and pinHint:false is an opt-out no profile has ever used (verified: zero occurrences of either across plugin-designs/). So cities-with-internet and gospel-resources, which have no red dots, invited readers to tap one; and UPG-100, whose dots are a four-colour reached/unreached scale, named the wrong colour. A hint describing something the reader cannot see makes a working map look broken. Fixed at the default rather than per profile, because the defect was a default asserting more than it could know. A shared component cannot know what colour a given map's dots are, so it no longer claims one. Profiles that do want to name a colour still can, via pinHintLabel. Reported 5+ times by the Driver. --- library/components/hints/PinHint.vue | 13 ++++++++++++- 1 file changed, 12 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) diff --git a/library/components/hints/PinHint.vue b/library/components/hints/PinHint.vue index a7daa10e0..cdc66e16d 100644 --- a/library/components/hints/PinHint.vue +++ b/library/components/hints/PinHint.vue @@ -43,8 +43,19 @@ import { useShadowStyles } from '../../composables/useShadowStyles.js' const uiStore = inject('uiStore', null) const profileConfig = inject('profileConfig', null) const isDark = computed(() => uiStore?.theme === 'dark') +// ★ THE DEFAULT MUST NOT NAME A COLOUR (Driver, reported 5+ times). +// The old default was "Tap a red dot — someone still needs prayer".
