4de20daed6 P assembly: the last census lines, stated neutrally
The census on the assembled branches still found eleven comments that attributed a choice to a dated
request, quoted it, or spoke in the first person: pplr-data-maps (geocoder, pin card, pin indicator, tree,
families, religion, semantic trees), research-dashboard's ramp note, upg-100-list's funnel note, and two
dated QA tags each in countries-map and research-map. Comments only; behaviour unchanged.

bba382d9af Comments only: neutral wording in research-dashboard, pplr-data-maps and the Research Gallery
Quoted remarks, attributions and person-tied dates in comments become plain statements of the same
technical fact, and the names of internal tools and roles become neutral descriptions of the check that
was run. No code, markup or style changes: the rebuilt bundles are byte-identical apart from Vue's
scoped-style ids, which hash each component's source, comments included.

d0de376f4a Big Picture header: rounded-square ⓘ left of a rounded-square Share
The dashboard header gains an info button ("What can this map do for you?") to
the left of Share. Both are rounded squares at the vertical tabs' radius
(--vtl-radius), matching the app's own roundedness; map controls stay round.

Built as a reusable, parameterized header-button form so other dashboards adopt
it by prop, not by copy:
- MapControlButton: new shape="rounded-square" (border-radius: var(--vtl-radius,8px)).
- ShareButton / MapInfoButton: a shape prop forwarded to MapControlButton;
ShareButton also squares its rotating ring so a round ring never wraps a square.
Defaults stay 'round' — every existing consumer is unchanged in behaviour.
- research-dashboard DashboardTopBar mounts the ⓘ and Share as one header-button
group, sized to the bar with the 44px tap target kept for both. DOM order
[ⓘ, Share] puts ⓘ at the logical start: left in English, right of Share in
Arabic (the flex row reverses under rtl).
- doxa-maps-spa dashboard-plus-grid tab -> trigger:'control', so the tab's
MapInfo is driven by the header ⓘ and the gallery's floating ⓘ is suppressed:
exactly one ⓘ, fail-open. No new strings (reuses mapInfo.open, 11 locales).

090b4eeb16 Research dashboard: filter lists read as lists in the reader's language
Three places joined names with ", ", which is a list only in English. Arabic
separates with a word, Chinese uses a different mark entirely and no comma at
any position, and German and French put a word before the last item. The
separator and the final connector are the grammar, so no catalogue key can fix
them from outside.

Two of the three carried a second, worse error. A multi-value filter holds
ALTERNATIVES -- the bus matches a row if ANY of its values matches, in
useSelectionBus with some() and in the data table with includes() -- so the
chip means "Islam or Hinduism". Joined with a comma it reads as "and" in every
language with an explicit connector, which states the opposite of what the
filter does. Those two become a disjunction.

The third is the screen-reader live region, which names the facets currently
applied. Those hold together and narrow the set in turn, so it is a
conjunction. It is also the one string here that some readers rely on entirely,
having no chips to glance at.

The composable is the single owner: every surface that turns a filter into
words comes through it, so the chip bar, the research-filter chips and the CSV
provenance line now say the same thing in the same language.

Left alone deliberately: five joins in this plugin's gate scripts. Those are
failure messages read in a terminal by whoever runs the gate, not text shown to
a reader, and formatting them per locale would help nobody.

Source only. This needs the bundle rebuilt before it ships.

201baa3d60 A filter chip with several values says "or", in the reader's language
With no resolver configured, the kit chip bar joined a multi-value filter with ', ', so "Africa,
Asia" read as ALL to most people and carried English commas in every locale. The selection bus
matches several values on one facet with includes() (useSelectionBus isFilterActive), so adding a
value WIDENS the result: they are alternatives. The chip now uses formatList(value, { type:
'disjunction' }): "Africa or Asia", "Africa أو Asia", "Africa或Asia". gospel traced the matcher
and made the call as the only consumer's owner (gospel-internet's GiCombos). The English on this
chip changes from a comma to "or".

check:legend-mirrors lifts this exact expression and drives it with no resolver. It now lifts
formatList from library/i18n the same way (the shipped grammar, not a copy) and expects
"Islam or Hinduism". Poisoned with the old join it fails; restored it passes. formatList's doc now
says to choose the type by what the list MEANS, and never 'unit' for names.

5095d798b8 research-dashboard, research-map, big-picture: keep the reasons, drop the speaker
Twenty-six references in capitals, which the earlier case-sensitive pass
could not see. Every requirement, date and measurement is kept: the 2026-09-23
instruction that removed the engagement and status filters, the MapLibre ask
with its Mapbox-compatibility condition, the blue-water-black-galaxy style,
the red ramp and the bin that collided with the heartbeat zone, the white
rings around the blue dots, the zoom that did not work inside the bounded map.

Two that are not quotes and were handled differently. The reduced-motion gate
opens with a medical reason — a reader of this map is photosensitive, and a
camera that sweeps the globe on every filter is a strobe — which is the whole
justification for the gate, so it stays as a fact about a reader rather than
about a person. And BpResearchHeader's "CAT-1 DRIVER CONTRACT" was a code
term; it is now the CAT-1 HEADER CONTRACT, checked for other references first.

Eleven lines broke and were found by re-reading every changed line, not by the
count. Removing an attribution left seven continuation lines holding the
closing half of a quotation that no longer opened, and four sentences carried
a pronoun for the speaker who had just been removed. The reference count was
correct at every point while the prose was wrong.

grep -wi driver across the three plugins: 0. The widened gate reports 40
swept, 14 still baselined. All six SFCs parse.

07eb74c33c Move four identical bodies into the library
From the fleet census: 620 function bodies indexed across 29 plugin trees,
16 identical in two or more. These are the four cheapest — none closes over
anything beyond its own parameters, so each is a file move plus an import
rather than a new dependency to thread.

hostElement resolves the custom element a component is mounted inside, one
hop out through the shadow root. It was identical in three plugins, and it
is the piece worth sharing for a reason other than line count: every plugin
ships through defineCustomElement, a composite nests two shadow roots, and
code that forgets the hop operates on the wrong node while looking correct.
A document-level query for a node inside a shadow root returns null on a
working build, which reads as a broken feature rather than a wrong query.
Three copies were three chances to write that.

findScrollportAncestor walks up to the nearest ancestor that actually
scrolls, crossing shadow boundaries on the way — parentElement stops at a
root, so a plugin in a custom element would otherwise find no scrollport and
conclude the page does not scroll.

findNodeInTree and buildFlatLegendMatchExpr join useLegendMapBridge, which
already holds four functions from the same seam. They sit at module level
rather than inside the factory because they close over nothing: a pure
function hidden in a closure can only be reached by constructing the whole
bridge.

Call sites keep their old names through a one-line local binding, so no
call changed and the diff is the declaration plus an import.

Rebuild-and-compare, all five affected bundles, before -> after:
  regions-dashboard   1,098,469 -> 1,098,479   +10
  country-posters     1,484,053 -> 1,484,028   -25
  doxa-research-map   1,354,051 -> 1,354,061   +10
  dashboard-plus-grid   915,660 ->   915,644   -16
  big-picture           366,907 ->   366,719  -188
net -209, and country-posters gains 25 bytes against the 1.5 MB ceiling.
Every behaviour-bearing token counted, not set-compared, and unchanged in
all three map bundles: regions-fill, peoplePraying, engagementStatus,
adoptionStatus, overflowY, scrollHeight, getRootNode, _flat_filter, religion.

Owners cleared their own files first: regions for regions-list.vue, upg100
for countries-map.vue. check:selection-kinds, check:legend-matches-source,
check:legend-data-contract, check:packet-variants, check:no-dead-library and
check:no-cross-plugin-imports all pass.

c0085d7336 Retire the last one-cycle re-export in the dashboard composables
useDashboardAggregations re-exported lbl, aggregate, OTHER_KEY, otherLabel
and NEUTRAL from @map/composables/useFacetAggregation.js, so that callers
could migrate after kit landing 4c-1 moved the generic half to the library.
Five files were still importing through it. They now import from the library
directly and the re-export line is gone; what stays in this module — colorFor
and its facet branches, the religion palettes, the donut and bar builders —
is research-specific.

DashboardChartsRail keeps its three builders from here and takes the other
four symbols from the library, so the split is by what each symbol is, not
by which file is nearer.

NEUTRAL is still imported: colorFor and buildCountryRegionColors read it five
times as the "no palette for this key" colour. Kit landing 4c-1 updated the
re-export line and not the import beside it, and every read threw
ReferenceError until that was fixed — deleting a re-export is not the same as
deleting the import next to it, so the import stays and the now-unused lbl
and aggregate come out of it.

Rebuild-and-compare on dashboard-plus-grid: 821.50 kB before and after,
899,237 bytes both, and every string literal appears the same number of times
in each. The builds differ only in which short names the minifier assigned,
which is what a change of module order looks like.

50b9f9a8a2 Two gates:post reds from this landing's own commits, fixed at the source
check:optional-t-equivalence evaluates useOptionalT.js on its own, with its
imports stripped and tStatic and useI18n handed in. The composable now also
imports getRuntimeLocale and cldrChoiceIndex, so every section died with a
ReferenceError. The gate now hands in a bare host's getRuntimeLocale and the
shipped cldrChoiceIndex, lifted from library/i18n/index.js's own text; its
import control accepts tStatic among several names, but still only from
'@map/i18n/index.js' (a catalogue import of the module's own still fails).

check:frozen-labels caught the research filters' new search placeholder:
tStatic inside a computed that reads no locale never re-runs, so the
placeholder stayed in the boot language. It now reads and passes
locale.value, like the search chip in the same file.

8d8b38a4b2 Translate the dashboard chrome and the map's tab-scoped search
Eighteen keys across eleven locales for text that was written in English in
the components: the rail and filter toggles, the selection count, the CSV
export toast, the drawer's prayer and information links, the dashboard
title, the map's failure message, and the four search placeholders that name
the tiers of whichever tab is open.

The export toast is interpolated rather than concatenated. Its counts keep
going through fmt(), which groups digits the way each locale does, and only
the words around them come from the catalogue — the order of "rows",
"fields" and the outcome is not the same in every language, so a sentence
built by joining fragments cannot be translated at all. It uses the shared
fillParams, which leaves a placeholder visible when a value is missing
instead of rendering the word "null".

The map's failure message no longer names the token and the container: that
is for the console line, which stays English for whoever is debugging. What
the reader sees says what to do.

Three more shapes the scan could not see, each of them correct code: tStatic
called directly rather than through a wrapper; `config || t(key) || English`,
where the translator is not the immediate left operand because || is
left-associative; and the licence credits, media queries and product name
that must not be translated at all.

Own leaks 91 -> 1, the last being a tab label behind a key that resolves in
all eleven locales. Fleet 249 -> 159. check:i18n-parity,
never-translated, treeshake and stopped-scope all pass.

59c2d1b838 Keep the reason, drop the speaker
One hundred and forty-three comments across the research dashboard, the research
map, Big Picture and the two composites attributed a decision to a person: by
name, by quotation, by date, or as "per Driver". Shipped code should carry the
reason a thing is the way it is, not who said so. A reader of the giveaway repo
has no way to ask that person anything, and the name tells them nothing the
reason does not.

So a quotation becomes the requirement it was quoting, a ruling becomes the
ruling, "the Driver reported" becomes what was reported, and a decision still
waiting on an answer now reads as provisional and pending a product decision
rather than as somebody's pending word. Where a comment already stated the
reason -- most of them did -- only the attribution went.

Two things were removed rather than rewritten. A personal medical fact appeared
twice ("the Driver is photosensitive"), once in a comment and once in a gate's
console output where it printed on every run; the motion-safety requirement
stands on its own and now reads that readers may be photosensitive. Internal card
ids that named nobody stayed, since they point at this repo's own history.

The bulk went in three batched passes of meaning-preserving substitutions, and
that is where the risk was: a blind replacement produces sentences that are
grammatically wrong but still look plausible in a diff. Re-reading every changed
line found thirteen -- "the the report describes", "including the two that were
had just complained about", "because was asked for WHITE rings" -- each repaired
individually. The count of remaining references caught the tail three separate
times, when a file type, an escaped apostrophe, and a scripts/ path each fell
outside a filter I had assumed was total.

Comment bodies and two console strings only. All twenty-one files parse, both
meta.json files are still valid JSON, and no declaration moved.

a4360f6661 Say what the research found, instead of pointing at where it is filed
Five comments in the shipped research dashboard cited _qa-cycle documents by
path: three RESEARCH write-ups, one REFERENCE standard, and one scratch probe.
Those files do not ship. A reader of the built plugin gets a path they cannot
open, and the reasoning it was standing in for is lost to them.

In every case the durable finding was already written out directly above the
citation, which was only ever a trailing "and here is where that came from". So
each now ends on the finding itself and the path is gone: that a comfort-tuned
palette anaesthetises the response the map exists to provoke; that a casing which
scales with zoom is what stops dense low-zoom rings swallowing their own fill;
that the real fix for pin contrast is the lightness-conditional stroke, which
holds whichever ramp is selected; and that the palette values come from the live
site rather than being re-invented, which is what stops an embedded dashboard
reading cooler than the page hosting it.

The scratch probe became the METHOD rather than a filename, since a probe is
worth citing only for what it does: contrast every ramp stop against all three
pin targets under both CVD simulations, and re-solve composited over the real
basemap. Compositing over pure white is what made two handed-over candidates
look like they passed, and that is the part a future reader needs.

Comment-only: no declaration moved, and all three files still parse.

3ea48ebb42 Release only the hooks this instance installed
251606460 dropped each component's window hooks on unmount, but deleted them
unconditionally, and that is wrong as soon as two of the same component share a
page -- which research-map-plus-grid and the Big Picture composite both arrange.
B mounts and overwrites A's hooks; A unmounts and deletes them; B is still on
screen with its verify hooks gone. Not a leak, and not visible to a reader: the
cost lands on rega, as a hook reported missing on a map that is perfectly
healthy, which is a more expensive thing to chase than this is to write.

people-groups-grid already compared identity before releasing. research-map (4
hooks) and the dashboard map panel (3) did not, so the commit was uneven with
itself; gospel's d3597f3d1 settled on the same identity-checked pattern, and one
pattern across the fleet is what lets the check enforce it later.

Each hook is now held in a local as it is installed -- window.__x = _hookX = (…)
-- declared outside the block that assigns it, because a const in there is
invisible to onBeforeUnmount. The release compares before deleting, one key per
line, so the check can read both halves.

The check reports how many releases are identity-checked and enforces it under
STRICT_IDENTITY=1, which is off only because other owners have not adopted the
pattern yet. Flipping it later is a smaller change than re-deriving this.

Two things it taught me while I wrote it. Enforcement first flagged the grid,
which WAS identity-checked -- the comparison simply sat on the line above the
delete, and looking only at the delete's own line dictated formatting instead of
recognising correct code; the window now covers the lines leading up to it. And
the pattern is tested for BEHAVIOUR, not presence: two hooks installed in turn,
the first unmount must leave the second working, the second must leave nothing.

1eae8ed80d Every unmounted map stayed in memory, held by one line on window
rega's heap snapshots (leak-722ac7789): Simple Research and All People Groups
mounted twice went 54.2 MB to 65.1 MB, with live Vue apps 6 to 8. Every unmounted
application was still there, one copy per mount, and the retainers were all the
same shape -- a window key set during setup and never cleared. The closure keeps
its component, the component keeps its shadow root, and a whole app survives its
own unmount. An element property dies with the element; a window key does not.

The named one was window.__doxaLogoOwner -> Map -> div.rm-map-canvas -> ShadowRoot
-> app, released only when the map's 'remove' event fires. That listener cannot be
the guarantee the global is cleared, because it only runs if remove() is reached;
it is a consequence of the guarantee, not the guarantee itself. useMapInstance now
drops the claim inside destroy(), before removing, so it goes even if remove()
throws part-way.

As for why remove() was never reached: research-map's unmount hook ran ten
teardown steps and called destroy() last, and two of those steps were unguarded
calls into other composables. A single throw anywhere above stranded the map, and
with it the app. I could not reproduce which step threw without a browser, so the
fix does not depend on knowing: each step is isolated and destroy() runs from a
finally, where nothing above it can skip it. Ordering teardown so the most
important step is last, behind nine chances to fail, was the real defect.

The globals themselves are released by the components that set them -- four verify
hooks in research-map, three in the dashboard map panel, the vocabulary hook in
the grid, which had no unmount hook at all. Released as SETS: __rdashPinAt was the
one the snapshot named, but __rdashMap holds the map and retains strictly more, so
clearing only the reported one would have looked fixed and leaked nearly as much.

The deletes are written one per line instead of looped over an array of names, so
that the check can read them. A release a checker cannot see is worth no more than
no release, the day someone removes three of the four.

The check flags only values that actually retain. A warn-once boolean latch and a
page-wide cache keyed off itself are deliberate and must not be reported, or it
becomes noise and gets switched off. It is NOT in gates:pre: 19 sites remain in
other owners' plugins, and this is a fleet pattern rather than one plugin's bug.

0147b6c2c6 The touch-target fix is what pushed the toggle into the zoom buttons
The projection toggle and the zoom toolbar share the top-right corner. The toolbar
was pinned at a literal top:34px, a number that was correct when it was chosen:
the toggle then measured 74x23 and ended at y=31, which this panel's own comment
records as a live measurement. A later accessibility fix gave the toggle
min-height:24px for WCAG 2.5.8. Nothing in this shadow root sets box-sizing
globally -- it appears exactly once, on the legend -- so 24 was a CONTENT height
and the rendered box became 24 plus 8 padding plus 2 border = 34px. Sitting at
top:8 it now ended at y=42 and ran 8px into the toolbar, which has z-index 10
against the toggle's 3 and so drew straight over it.

Nobody did anything careless. A correct fix to one control broke another because
the agreement between them was a magic number living in the other rule, where the
person changing the first had no reason to look.

So the toggle gets box-sizing:border-box, which makes 24 mean twenty-four and
keeps it a legitimate 24px touch target, and the toolbar's offset is now
calc(--rd-proj-top + --rd-proj-h + --rd-ctl-gap). The relationship is stated once,
on the element that owns it, and both the desktop rule and its mobile restatement
read it. Changing the toggle's size now moves the toolbar by construction.

The check computes the toggle's rendered height from its own declarations the way
a browser does, honouring box-sizing, rather than asserting either number --
restating 34 here would have rebuilt the same trap one file further away. Run
against the code as it stood before this commit it reports the overlap and its
exact size. It also requires the toolbar to DERIVE its offset, because a literal
that is correct today is the precise shape of this bug.

55767fabbc Arabic mirrored the layout but not these sixteen rules
An RTL audit of research-map, research-dashboard and its four dashboard
components. Translation was already sound -- 101 keys, all present in all eleven
locales, no hardcoded English anywhere user-visible -- so what was left was
direction: rules that pin a physical side while the reader's text flows the other
way.

Three an Arabic reader would notice immediately. Both search icons sit at
left:8px and left:10px while the input around them mirrors, so the icon ends up
on the far side of the field it belongs to. The detail drawer's border-left
stays on the geometric left, which in Arabic is the drawer's trailing edge, so
the panel appears unattached on the side it hinges from.

The rest are quieter but the same mistake: a badge, a provider chip, the two
edge affordances, a table's numeric columns and its indicator, a result row's
spacer, the projection toggle.

Every change is LTR-NEUTRAL, which is what makes this safe to land on its own.
In left-to-right, inset-inline-start resolves to left, text-align:end resolves
to right, margin-inline-start resolves to margin-left. The English view cannot
move; only the Arabic one can. Fourteen insertions against fourteen deletions,
one property each, nothing else touched.

The pattern is not new here -- .rd-legend-map already uses inset-inline-end,
with a comment recording that a physical right pinned it to the wrong edge in
Arabic. These sixteen are the rules that were missed when that lesson was
applied.

What this does NOT establish: that Arabic renders correctly. Every RTL gate in
the repo needs a browser, so this was read rather than run. The three visible
ones want eyes on ar before anyone calls RTL done.

b1dbd9bc87 The research dashboard asked the API for English, then translated half of it
useDashboardData read `lang` straight out of sources.json, where it is frozen at
"en", and nothing ever overrode it. So every row the dashboard fetched came back
English regardless of the reader's locale.

The result was not a uniformly English page, which would at least be honest. It
was worse. DashboardChartsRail localizes its country labels through
countryName(), so at ?lang=ar the top-countries chart read الصين while the table
row directly beneath it read "People's Republic of China" — and a page that is
half translated looks like a bug in the half that works. Three surfaces rendered
the raw English label: the data table's country column
(dashboard.config.js:299), the detail drawer (DashboardDetailDrawer.vue:171) and
the search-result subtitle (DashboardTopBar.vue:327).

Fixing it at the SOURCE rather than at the three render sites is what makes them
agree: ask the API in the reader's language and the labels arrive correct, with
no countryName() call and no third spelling of a country's name to reconcile.

DataSourceManager.js:261 has done exactly this for its own callers all along —
`if (this.locale) extraParams.lang = this.locale` — and doxa-research-map,
doxa-simple-map and country-posters all pass a locale in. This composable simply
never got the same treatment.

BOTH LOCALE CHANNELS, because it genuinely arrives by either: `lang` is provided
by ProfileLoader for an element configured through profile-config, and
window[PAGE_LOCALE_KEY] is what a generated leaf sets from ?lang= — the URL a
person actually shares. Reading only one left the regions dashboard's data
labels English on the shared-link path while its chrome translated, which is the
measurement this copies rather than rediscovers.

Resolved at REQUEST time, not captured at setup, so a locale switch cannot pin
the dashboard to whichever language happened to load first.

AND A LOCALE CHANGE NOW REFETCHES. load() ran only onMounted, so switching
language mid-session would have re-rendered chrome over data still in the old
language — the same defect one layer up. Same shape as region-dashboards.vue:680,
guarded on a real change so the mount fetch is not doubled.

Caught while writing it: my first version of that watch called inject() inside
the callback, where it does not work — it warns on every tick and returns null.
The ref is captured in setup and only read later, which is what this file already
does for profileConfig, for the same reason.

Proved headless: locale resolution across all four channels (leaf ?lang=,
injected profile-config, neither, and injected-beats-runtime), then that the
chart, the table column, the drawer and the search subtitle produce the SAME
string for CHN, LAO and COD at ar — the disagreement that started this. The
API's ?lang= behaviour itself is not my assumption: it was measured live at ar
and zh on region-dashboards (its comment at :366).

5ab4af2e44 Five plugins were silently monolingual, because the bootstrap was copied sixteen times
Goal (c), and it turned into a goal (d) fix. Every profile element is
defineCustomElement(ProfileLoader, { configureApp }), and the configureApp has four
steps. The fourth, app.provide('appI18n', i18n), is the one that gets dropped.

ProfileLoader injects that instance (ProfileLoader.vue:176) to drive its locale from
profile-config. Without the provide the watcher holds null and the drive NEVER RUNS --
while setRuntimeLocale() on the next line still fires, so tStatic strings DO follow the
host. The element renders a convincing MIXTURE of the reader's language and English, and
nothing throws, because the t() shim falls back to its key. It reads as "a few strings
not translated yet".

SHIPPING THAT TODAY: country-posters, key-cities, gospel-resources, cities-internet and
my-upg-100-list. regions-plugin censused all 19 entry files independently and found the
same five and no sixth. The measurement is regions-dashboard's, from when they hit it:
a Spanish catalogue present, es set, and every t() string still English.

All sixteen entries now call library/elements/defineMapElement.js, so the five are fixed
by construction rather than by five separate edits. Behaviour is otherwise identical --
same options, same element names, same per-plugin extras. wall-of-people-groups needed
the helper to hand its pinia back, because it takes a store off its own instance and a
helper that hid pinia would have given it a second one: two stores and a silent state
split.

★ AND THE CENSUS THAT RECOMMENDED THIS SAW FOUR OF SIXTEEN. My detector hashed function
BODIES; eleven sites are not `function buildXElement()` at all, they are
`const El = defineCustomElement(...)`. I wrote "every number here is a lower bound" in
the census as a caveat and it was the headline within the hour -- a 4x undercount of the
item it recommended. So this gate greps for the SHAPE, not for a known list: a check
written around the four that matched would have passed the twelve that did not.

check-element-bootstrap has two arms. No entry may build a profile element by hand, and
the helper itself must provide appI18n -- PLANTED as a negative case, so the regression
cannot return by editing library instead of a plugin. It also fails if it finds fewer
than ten entries, because a detection that stops matching reports the same green as a
tree with no problems.

THE PLANT CAUGHT TWO BUGS IN THIS GATE BEFORE IT CAUGHT ANYTHING ELSE. The predicate
matched the helper's DOCSTRING, so it would have passed a helper that only mentions the
provide in prose -- comments are stripped now, because a check that reads comments is
reading the author's intentions rather than the program. And the plant itself used /m
instead of /gm, so it deleted the documentation and left the code, then reported that it
could not detect an absence that was not there.

009d73b44e The share button had to look smaller; its tap target did not have to shrink with it
rega's 3c3bde71 fixed a real defect: ShareButton is the map toolbar's 40px round
control plus a 2px ring, so it measured 44px inside a 38px bar and overflowed it. At
28px + ring it matches the search box, which is what the Driver asked for.

The side effect is that the TAP TARGET went to 32px, and this repo states its own floor
twice -- DataTable.vue:294, "44px is the accessible tap target; anything smaller is a
miss on a phone", and LegendDesktop.vue:124 sizes rows to keep it. Nothing in the change
said otherwise; the target simply followed the drawing, which is what tap targets do
unless someone stops them.

A transparent box centred on the button restores it without moving a pixel: absolutely
positioned so it changes no layout, and part of the button so it takes the same clicks.
The visual stays exactly as the Driver approved.

44 WIDE, 38 TALL, AND THE 6px IS DELIBERATE. The bar is 38px, so a 44px-tall target
would hang 3px over the filters row and start taking taps meant for a filter -- one miss
traded for another. 44x38 is the largest target that costs nothing else. Closing the
last 6px needs a taller bar, and the Driver has just decided that axis in the other
direction, so it is asked rather than assumed.

3c3bde71e4 Big Picture: the share button fits its 38px header instead of overflowing it
Some checks are pending
Deploy to GitHub Pages / build (push) Waiting to run
Deploy to GitHub Pages / deploy (push) Blocked by required conditions
The Driver: the share button at the top right of the Big Picture dashboard is too large. Measured: the
research-dashboard topbar is 38px tall, but ShareButton is the map toolbar's 40px round button (36px under
768px) plus a 2px rainbow ring, so 44px, taller than the bar it sits in, and clipped top and bottom.

In this bar only (.rd-topbar), the button is 28px and its icon 15px: with the ring it is 32px, the height of the
bar's own search box, centred with 5px above and below. Measured after, at 1440 and 390, on the Big Picture
(dashboard-plus-grid) and research-dashboard leaves: the bar stays 38px; the title, search box and Align button
keep their sizes. Map toolbars keep their 40px share button. Rebuilt research-dashboard + dashboard-plus-grid,
tree regenerated.

9fddcb9901 min-height clamps height, so the pane could not hold the plugin it was pinning
The Driver's least favourite bug: on DX Life's research page a capability-4 plugin
with tabs at the top had a second, element-level scrollbar, and scrolling it scrolled
the TAB HEADER out of view.

doxa-maps-spa pins each fixed-viewport plugin with position:absolute;inset:0;height:
100% and its own comment states the invariant: "fills the pane exactly, so
scrollHeight===clientHeight and overflow:auto paints NO scrollbar." CSS never granted
that. A used height is CLAMPED between min-height and max-height, so a child's own
min-height BEATS the height:100% the shell sets -- it is a floor, not a preference.
Wherever the pane was shorter than that floor the pinned element grew taller than the
pane it was meant to fill, .dms-slot grew with it, and .dms-pane's overflow-y:auto
became a real scroll container wrapping the WHOLE plugin, tab strip included. That is
the second scrollbar: not the plugin's content scroller, the PANE scrolling the plugin
bodily. The invariant was written as a description and was only ever a hope.

The shell now pins with min-height:0. An inline style outranks a child's :host rule,
so that one property restores the invariant for every fixed-viewport plugin at once
without editing any of them. It is NOT added to the scroll-stack branch, where
natural height is the design.

A floor set INSIDE a child's shadow root is out of reach from the shell, and two of
mine had one. research-dashboard's .rd-shell and big-picture's .bp-root now say
min-height:inherit, deferring to :host -- which the gallery pins to 0, and which a
naive page leaves at its own floor, so the collapse guard those floors exist for is
kept rather than deleted. big-picture's 480px MOVED UP to :host rather than being
dropped: :host had no floor there, so inheriting would have quietly resolved to 0
everywhere and thrown away the black-screen guard its own comment calls load-bearing.

check-one-scroll-container asserts both halves, because either alone rots: the shell
still pins with min-height:0, and no plugin grows a NEW floor inside its shadow root.
The second half is what matters later -- a fixed shell plus a plugin that adds
min-height:700px next month is this bug again and nobody would connect it.

The rule is a CONTRADICTION IN ONE DECLARATION, not a large min-height by itself: an
element saying height:100% ("I fill whatever holds me") while refusing to be shorter
than N. My first version flagged any big min-height and caught gospel-resources'
.gd-map, a map deliberately sized height:80svh that scrolls inside its root's own
content scroller -- the one scrollbar a plugin is allowed. Flagging it would have sent
its owner after a non-bug, which is worse than not having the gate.

Negative-tested: removing min-height:0 from the shell, and reverting either .rd-shell
or .bp-root to a constant, each add a failure; restored, only the known one remains.

RED ON PURPOSE, and deliberately NOT in gates:pre. gospel-internet's .gb still carries
min-height:640px and that fix is its owner's. Wiring a red gate into gates:pre would
block the fleet on someone else's file, so the gates:pre entry belongs in the same
landing that fixes .gb -- until then this gate is the work item, afterwards the guard.

Source only: doxa-maps-spa, research-dashboard and big-picture need rebuilding, which
is the build owner's to do.

9d13bef3fb Two labels resolved once and stayed in the boot language
upg100 measured both, and both were created by today's i18n fixes — mine and the batch's. A computed
only re-runs when a REACTIVE dependency changes; tStatic reads a plain window global. So these resolved
at first render and never moved again, while every label around them followed the switch.

  · big-picture.vue — heading depended on config.value.title, which does not change when the host
changes language. It now reads hostLang, which is reactive and already drives setRuntimeLocale, and
PASSES it to tStatic so the right catalogue is read. useI18n is not available here: this bundle
installs no i18n, which is why the whole element reads through tStatic.
  · DashboardResearchFilters.vue — the live-search chip, same shape. research-dashboard DOES install
i18n (index.js:83), so this takes vue-i18n's reactive locale ref, reads it to re-run and passes it
    for the lookup.

Both land on check-frozen-labels' documented clean shape — an explicit locale argument — rather than
hiding tStatic behind a helper that would satisfy the gate while leaving the label frozen.

The heading also moved BELOW hostLang, so the dependency it now relies on is declared above it rather
than four hundred lines later.

Verified: check:sfc-parse PASS; check-frozen-labels (studio/landing58) reports exactly these two sites
today, and the shape they move to is its own "pinned" self-test case.

  · THE PROJECTION PILL (DashboardMapPanel) carries role="button" and tabindex="0" and had no key
handler. A keyboard reader tabs to it, hears "button", presses Enter, and nothing happens — the
role and the tabindex promise an activation that was never wired (WCAG 2.1.1). It is a span rather
than a button because the pill sits inside the map chrome, so the promise has to be kept by hand.
I touched this element earlier today to give it a translated accessible name and did not notice it
could not be operated; naming a control and making it usable are separate jobs.

  · THE SORTABLE COLUMN HEADERS (DashboardDataTable) carry role="columnheader" and aria-sort and were
click-only. Screen-reader users were told the sort state of a control they could not reach. Now
focusable with Enter and Space, and shift+Enter still adds a second column, because onSort reads
shiftKey off the event it is handed and a KeyboardEvent carries it the same way.

.prevent on space so the page does not scroll under the press.

TWO HITS WERE FALSE POSITIVES and are recorded so the next sweep does not re-raise them: the facet
rail's .fr-body and the chip bar's .rd-chips both take @click on a container, which looks like a
click-handler on a non-focusable div. They are DELEGATION: the facet rows carry their own
:tabindex/:role and the container has @keydown for parity, and every chip is a real <button> with an
aria-label. The control is the row and the chip, not the box around them.

Verified: check:sfc-parse PASS, and the scan reports 0 on both files afterwards. Not landed — the quiet

That rule was remembered, not enforced: an agent ran a gate it took for a

internal/lib/playwright-guarded.mjs is now the one way a repo file reaches
playwright: its launch(), launchPersistentContext(), launchServer(), connect()
and connectOverCDP() exit 75 (NOT MEASURED) with a message naming
browser-slot.sh unless DOXA_BROWSER_SLOT is set, and browser-slot.sh exports it
for the command it runs, so a bash -c grandchild inherits it. All 72 files that

plugin-designs scripts: doxa-research-map 3, my-upg-100-list 2,

check:browser-gates-guarded (gates:pre) fails a direct import;

d690b1af41 The country's code comes from the row, not from its name
rega, ?lang=ar on landing 38: "People's Republic of China" and "Lao People's Democratic Republic" were
still English in the top-countries chart. The API labels some countries with their FORMAL name, and
library/data/countries.json does not carry those — it says "China" and "Laos" — so reversing the English
name missed precisely the countries whose names are longest. Measured: both miss the name table, and
both resolve through the row (CHN -> CN -> الصين, LAO -> LA -> لاوس).

Every row already carries both halves: the label the chart aggregates on, and the alpha-3 in
country_code.value — the same accessor the choropleth joins on. Reading the pair out of the data is
exact and needs no alias table. The name table stays as the fallback, so a label whose rows are
currently filtered out still resolves, and a synthetic key ("Other") resolves to neither and renders as
itself.

Deliberately NOT a looser text match. "Democratic Republic of the Congo" and "Republic of the Congo" are
two countries, so stripping formal prefixes is how one would silently become the other — the failure
countryName.js's own header warns about, and the reason that file refuses to guess.

Still English, and not fixable from CLDR: the regions "Middle East" and "North America & Non-Spanish
Caribbean". M49 145 is "Western Asia" and 021 is "Northern America"; neither means the region we draw,
so naming them from CLDR would redraw the region rather than translate it. They need a translation
source, which is the Driver's call — the same class as the affinity blocs and language families.

ed87323592 Big Picture speaks Arabic where it was still speaking English: chrome and data labels
rega's ?lang=ar pass (KA3, 3d64bcad) found English on a localized map in four places, and the census
behind it explains why no gate saw them. Catalogue coverage is COMPLETE: of the 760 keys my bundles
name across the 21 areas they reach, ZERO are missing from any of the ten non-English locales, and the
per-locale English-identical values are numerals, acronyms and cognates rather than debt. Everything
rega actually read was a string no catalogue ever held.

  · THE PROJECTION PILL said "🌐 Globe" / "▭ Flat" in all eleven locales. The icon is now the label.
Neither word has a catalogue entry and authoring ten new strings for a two-state toggle to say what
a glyph already says is the wrong trade — but mapui.enableGlobe / mapui.disableGlobe DO ship in all
eleven, as the ACTION, which is what a button should announce. They become the accessible name and
the tooltip. min-width joins min-height on the pill: the 24px used to come free from the text.

  · THE TABLE FOOTER said "Σ 2,107 groups". dashboard.groups has shipped in eleven locales all along
(ar "مجموعة") and this one call site never read it. Written with the same singular/plural test as
the header count so the two cannot disagree at one row.

  · THE REGION CHART labelled its bars with the prayer API's English region names. Seven regions is a
closed set, so they are now CATALOGUED — five generated from vendored CLDR by
internal/generate-wagf-region-names.mjs, which is the same data countryName.js already trusts.
Generating is what keeps seventy translations out of my hands. middle_east and
north_america_&_non-spanish_caribbean stay English: M49 145 is "Western Asia" and 021 is "Northern
America", and neither means the region we draw. An English label a reader can match to the map beats
a localized one that names the wrong territory. --check verifies the catalogue against CLDR.

  · TOP COUNTRIES labelled its bars with the API's English country names. By aggregation time the
alpha-3 is gone, so countryName.js gains iso3ForEnglishName() — reversing its OWN table, exact where
it matches and silent where it does not — which is precisely the ✓ case its header describes.

One thing found while wiring those: the BAR label was the only chart surface still printing the raw
facet key. The donut, its legend and both tooltips already went through legendLabel(); the bar list did
not, which is why these labels stayed English after the donut was fixed for rega's earlier survey. Both
new facets are projected there, so the two charts cannot disagree about a name again.

English is left EXACTLY as authored. Both projections return the key untouched at locale 'en', which
also keeps the 42 countries whose CLDR name differs from ours reading as they do today. Nothing
localizes a VALUE: data-key, isActive() and every click and filter path still carry the canonical
English, the rule the religion donut already followed.

Verified: gates:pre 12/12, check:i18n-keys-exist / parity / never-translated PASS, and the generator's
own --check PASS. Rendering on ?lang=ar goes to rega.

655bbdc561 A filtered table becomes a link anyone can open, and the link now carries the typed search
Card BUILD-SHAREABLE-FILTERED-TABLES, for researchers and media-to-movements teams: narrow the table to
the peoples you are working on, then give that exact view to a teammate or reopen it on a phone.

TWO GAPS, both measured on main before building.

1. IT WAS NOT REUSABLE. The share hash was a PRIVATE function inside
plugin-designs/research-dashboard/src/composables/useDashboardShell.js, so exactly one dashboard in
the fleet could produce a link. go-int's board had none — grepped, zero matches — and every future
kit dashboard would have had none either. Nothing in it was research-specific except its address.
It is now library/composables/useShareableView.js, parameterized: the bus and labelFor are passed
in, the filter and search param names are options, and no dashboard is named inside it. The
research dashboard supplies the one genuinely research thing — labelFor, for the display-only slug.

2. THE LINK WAS INCOMPLETE, AND SILENTLY SO. The hash serialized filterSet ONLY. Typing in the search
box is the commonest way this persona narrows a table, so a shared link reopened with MORE ROWS than
the sender saw, with nothing to tell the recipient their set was wider. For population data passed
between teams that is worse than a link that plainly fails. `q` is appended only when a term is
present, so a dashboard with an empty search box writes byte-identically the hash it wrote before.

`&` joins params now, so it is reserved in values alongside `;` `:` `*` `,` `%` — otherwise a search for
"rice & beans" would truncate the link at the ampersand.

check:share-policy grows a DRIVEN arm: the two pure functions are lifted from the kit source and RUN,
so nine guarantees are measured rather than asserted — the old format byte-for-byte on an empty search,
slug still display-only, multi-value still dropping the slug, the typed search reaching the link and
coming back, a literal comma in a people-group name surviving, an ampersand in the search surviving, and
both legacy shapes (JSON hashes, and old #f= links with no q) still restoring. No browser needed to
prove a string round-trips.

Source only. Rebuild: research-dashboard, dashboard-plus-grid.

check:filter-multivalue arm C follows the file: it lifted escapeValue/unescapeValue from the shell to
drive the hash round-trip, and said so plainly when they moved ("the hash format moved and this gate is
blind to it") rather than passing vacuously. Repointed to the kit module.

9c9fcd5572 RTL drag: the direction probe reads the handle, and two handle margins become logical
Two certain defects from source. What I could NOT settle without a browser is stated at the end
rather than guessed at.

1. THE PROBE READ THE WRONG NODE. The sign has to match the element the GRID lays out with. Both
probes read the SHELL; the handle is a grid child, so whatever direction the grid resolves the
handle inherits — and the shell is one node further out. A host that sets dir between the two, or
a shellRef that is not the grid itself, yields a sign that disagrees with the mirroring the reader
can see. Both the pointer and the keyboard path now try the handle first and fall back to the
shell, then to ltr, so a detached handle cannot throw mid-gesture.
2. research-dashboard's two handles used PHYSICAL margins (margin-right / margin-left) while the grid
they sit in mirrors — grid-template-columns and justify-self both follow the inline direction — so
in Arabic each handle's 4px overhang sat on the wrong side of its own column. go-int's board
already used the logical pair; this makes them agree.

WHAT WAS ALREADY RIGHT, so nobody re-fixes it: the xSign inversion itself is correct for a mirroring
grid and is DEPLOYED — 2 of 2 rtl checks present in the built gospel-internet, dashboard-plus-grid and
research-dashboard bundles, so this was never a stale-rebuild problem.

MEASUREMENT I NEED (rega, one line): during a drag in ar on the Gospel x Internet board, log
getComputedStyle on BOTH the handle and the shell and report each .direction. If the handle says rtl
and the shell says ltr, item 1 above is the whole bug. If both say ltr while the grid is visibly
mirrored, the mirroring comes from somewhere my probe cannot see and I will need that.

be3ee1cdde Kit 4d-1: the shared search is declared once, which landing 4a meant to do and did not finish
Landing 4a extracted buildSearchAccessors / makeSearchMatcher / filterRowsBySearch into
library/composables/useDashboardSearch.js. It left them DEFINED in useDashboardShell.js as well —
4.3KB of code-identical copies, including the Fuse.js matcher. I compared all three function bodies
with comments and whitespace stripped: identical, byte for byte.

Nothing had diverged, so nothing failed, and that is exactly why it survived: the facet rail ran the
library copy while the shell's KPIs and three panels ran the shell's. The comment that used to sit
above those definitions said the point of ONE declaration is that "the searchable text can never
drift from what the panels show" — and there were two. This tree has already paid for that shape once,
at Jaccard 0.82, with useNeighborT and usePplrT.

The shell now imports them like every other consumer, and DashboardChartsRail, DashboardDataTable and
DashboardMapPanel read '@map/composables/useDashboardSearch.js' instead of reaching through the shell.
No re-export shim: all four consumers are repointed in this commit, so there is nothing for a shim to
serve, and an unretired shim is how three older ones sat in the tree unnoticed until this afternoon.

check:filter-multivalue grows arm E, deliberately beside arm B. Arm B exists because a copied FILTER
predicate lets one panel disagree with the others about what is on screen; a copied SEARCH is the same
hazard with a different name. Arm E asserts the library module declares all three, that the shell
declares none of them, and that no file anywhere imports them from the shell. Its importer sweep walks
plugin-designs and library rather than a hardcoded list, because a hardcoded list of "files that might
import this" is the assumption that let 4a's copies survive.

Groundwork for 4d-4: this removes 4.3KB from the file that has to be split into a generic kernel and a
research composition root, and it removes three exports from the surface that split has to preserve.

Source only. research-dashboard and dashboard-plus-grid need a rebuild.

6cc5542b70 One place decides how a count is punctuated, and it still says en-US
The numerals policy is HELD — whether counts follow the reader's locale is the Driver's decision — so
this changes nothing anyone can see. Every caller renders exactly the digits and separators it
rendered before. What changes is how many places that decision is written down: thirteen call sites
across four bundles becomes one, library/utils/formatCount.js, and eight of the thirteen (mine) now
read it.

That is the whole value while the policy is held. If the answer becomes "follow the locale" it is a
one-line edit in formatCount.js instead of thirteen edits by four owners, each free to pick a
different locale source — and the first divergence in that world would be invisible: two panels in
one dashboard, same number, different separators.

★ IT FORMATS. IT DOES NOT DECIDE WHAT EMPTY MEANS, and that is the bug this fold would otherwise have
shipped. I told dx-shepherd these three helpers were "byte-identical". They are not:
  DashboardDataTable     null/undefined -> ''   and '' falls through to Number('') === 0, so "0"
  DashboardDetailDrawer  null/undefined/'' -> '—'
  useDashboardShell      null/undefined -> '—'  and '' likewise becomes "0"
Three different answers to "what does a missing count look like", inside one dashboard. Folding them
onto one empty policy would have silently changed two of the three — a table cell going from blank to
an em dash, or an em dash where a zero used to be. So each caller KEEPS its own guard and hands
formatCount a value it has already established is real. The locale decision folds; the empty policy
does not, and the difference is written into the helper's header so the next person does not re-merge
them.

Folded: DashboardDataTable, DashboardDetailDrawer, useDashboardShell (its exported fmt keeps working
for the KPI strip), DashboardFacetRail's three inline template calls, people-groups-grid's two.
NOT folded, because they are other owners': regions-dashboard (3) and pplr-data-maps (2). The helper
is theirs to import when they want it; nothing forces them, and no gate demands it — a gate requiring
the helper everywhere would fail on their files today, which is not a thing to land on someone else.

79e373d7cb Kit landing 4c-4: the breadcrumb completes the facet-cascade group, and three dead shims go
THE GROUP WAS SCHEDULED AS ONE LANDING AND DELIVERED AS TWO. Section 8 of the spec puts the facet
rail, the chip bar and the BREADCRUMB in a single landing. The rail moved in 4c-3 and the chips in
4c-2; the breadcrumb was left behind, and nothing failed, because it is mounted by nobody. A leftover
like that is invisible unless someone re-reads the spec against the tree, which is what this landing
came out of.

The breadcrumb gets exactly the inversion the chip bar got: no useTreeLegendLabels import, the
resolver read from dashboardConfig.legend, and the SAME unconfigured default — identity, joining an
array. Identical on purpose rather than by copy-paste: the breadcrumb and the chips render the same
filterSet in the same band, so if their defaults differed a half-configured dashboard would show one
value resolved and the other raw, side by side. Its dead `dataStore` / `searchSourceId` injects go
too; they existed only to build the composable that is no longer imported.

★ AND THREE ONE-CYCLE SHIMS FROM LANDINGS 2 AND 3 WERE NEVER RETIRED. plugin-designs/research-
dashboard/src/composables/ still held useDashboardLayout.js (11 lines), useSelectionCamera.js (11) and
useCsvExport.js (14), each a pure re-export of the library module. MEASURED before deleting: ZERO
importers. Every consumer — including DashboardMapPanel, DashboardDataTable, DashboardDetailDrawer,
useDashboardShell, gospel-internet's board and research-dashboard.vue — already reads
'@map/composables/…' directly, and a tree-wide grep for a relative import of any of the three returns
nothing. So they were dead code that made the plugin look like it still owned three library modules.

I wrote "a one-cycle shim that nobody retires is permanent" into the previous landing's gate comment
while three older ones were sitting in the tree unnoticed. They were not found by a gate; they were
found by listing what is still in plugin-designs and comparing it against the spec.

9c86d91c7f Kit 4c-2/4c-3 follow-up: both one-cycle barrel shims retired, and the gate holds the window shut
The chip bar (4c-2) and the facet rail (4c-3) each moved into library/components/dashboards/ and were
re-exported from the plugin barrel for ONE cycle, so that moving a file and changing its importers
were separate, reviewable landings. That cycle is over.

BLAST RADIUS, measured on main rather than assumed: exactly ONE real importer. research-dashboard.vue
imported DashboardFacetRail from './src/components/dashboards'; it now reads
'@map/components/dashboards/DashboardFacetRail.vue'. DashboardFilterChips had ZERO importers, so its
shim served nobody and is simply gone. Everything else that named either component was a gate already
pointing at the library path, or prose.

check:legend-mirrors arm 5 INVERTS, and the inversion is the point rather than an edit. While the
shim existed, the risk was an importer failing to resolve, so the arm REQUIRED the re-export. With the
shim retired the risk is the opposite and larger: a re-export creeping back makes the plugin barrel
look like the owner of a library component, which is exactly how check:filter-multivalue once ended up
reading a shim instead of the panel it was written to guard, and passing vacuously. A one-cycle shim
that nobody retires is permanent, so the gate now holds the window closed — it fails on a returning
re-export AND on any file still importing either name through the barrel or its old path.

★ THE THREE FILES MUST LAND TOGETHER. Measured: the new gate produces 3 arm-5 failures against
unmodified main, because main still has both shims and the barrel import. check:legend-mirrors is in
gates:post, so landing the gate without the source changes turns every build red. All three failures
are in the two files this commit fixes, so nothing outside it is affected and no other owner is
blocked.

Two false positives of my own, both caught by running the gate rather than reading it:
- The importer test used `import … <Name> … [\s\S]{0,200}? from '…'`, and that span CROSSED INTO THE
NEXT STATEMENT: after the fix, research-dashboard.vue has the new single-name import immediately
followed by a braced import ending `from './src/components/dashboards'`, so the regex started on the
corrected line and found the barrel path two statements later. It reported the file it had just been
fixed in. Now bounded to one statement with a negative lookahead for the next `import`.
- That is the third unbounded-span false positive I have written today — the others walked a brace
match past a callback-less watch() and read a chip's internal name as prose. The shape is the
lesson, so it is written down beside the fix: never let a span cross a statement boundary.

Verified on main + these changes: check:legend-mirrors, check:sfc-parse, check:no-free-identifiers,
check:filter-multivalue, check:no-cross-plugin-imports, check:composites-mount, check:library-index and
check:setup-order all pass. Arm 5 negative-tested both ways: a returning barrel re-export and a
reverted importer are each caught, and the clean state passes.

Kit landing 4c-1 moved NEUTRAL into library/composables/useFacetAggregation.js and updated the

7e04a94c34 Kit landing 4c-3: the facet rail follows the chip bar into the library
The rail's rendering is unchanged. What changed is where its last two plugin imports point. 4b had
already removed the research COLOUR and LABEL tables -- those stay in plugin-designs and arrive on
dashboardConfig.legend -- which left exactly two, and both now read the module that OWNS the
function rather than a re-export:
  useDashboardAggregations -> @map/composables/useFacetAggregation.js   (extracted by 4c-1)
  useDashboardShell        -> @map/composables/useDashboardSearch.js    (extracted by 4a)
Pointing at the shim instead would have been invisible and wrong in a way this tree has already
measured: check:filter-multivalue carries the note from landing 3 that a gate left at the plugin path
read the shim, found no predicate to object to, and PASSED VACUOUSLY.

The dead injects go too. `dataStore` and `searchSourceId` were here only to construct
useTreeLegendColors and useTreeLegendLabels, and 4b removed both constructions. An unused inject is a
claim about the host: a kit component that appears to need a research dataStore is one a new
dashboard will dutifully provide before finding out it was never read. The chip bar shed the same
pair in 4c-2.

check:filter-multivalue and check:legend-mirrors follow the file rather than being left pointing at a
path that no longer exists -- the multivalue gate fails loudly on a missing panel, which is what it
is for, and it is how I would have caught forgetting.

UNLIKE THE CHIP BAR, THIS ONE IS ON SCREEN. 4c-2's component is mounted by nobody, so its gate was
the whole story. The rail is mounted by research-dashboard.vue and is 770 lines of tree, search and
drag behaviour: "the imports resolve" says nothing about whether it still opens four trees by
default or whether its search still narrows. It needs eyes.

The barrel re-exports from the library for one cycle, so no importer's line changes in the same
landing that moves the file. documentation/reference-library-index.md regenerated.

d54ece3b25 Kit landing 4c-2: the chip bar moves into the library, and its unconfigured default gets a voice
DashboardFilterChips.vue moves to library/components/dashboards/. Nothing about the rendering
changed. What made the move possible was 4b, which inverted the one dependency that blocked it: this
file imported useTreeLegendLabels — the People CODE -> NAME tables, research-specific and staying in
plugin-designs — and a library component importing a plugin composable is what
check:no-cross-plugin-imports refuses. The resolver now arrives on dashboardConfig.legend.

THREE THINGS BEYOND THE MOVE, all found by assessing the file rather than by moving it:

1. THE UNCONFIGURED DEFAULT NOW JOINS A LIST. 4b's fallback returned the value untouched, so a
   multi-value filter (spec D1) printed String(['A012','A013']) = "A012,A013", comma-jammed, while a
dashboard that DID supply a resolver got "South Asian Peoples, Bengali Peoples". Configured and
unconfigured should differ in whether CODES RESOLVE, never in punctuation — the second difference
reads as a rendering bug rather than as missing configuration, and go-int is the consumer who will
   see the unconfigured state first.

2. THE DEAD INJECTS ARE GONE. `dataStore` and `searchSourceId` existed only to construct
useTreeLegendLabels and have been unused since 4b. Removed rather than left in place: an unused
inject is a claim about the host, and a kit component that appears to need a research dataStore is
one a new dashboard will dutifully provide before discovering it is never read.

3. AN EXPLICIT EXCEPTION TO library/components/WARNING.md, recorded in the file's own header. That
file says a component graduates into the library only once MORE THAN ONE map uses it; this one is
used by ZERO, because the topbar dedup pass unmounted it when SearchFilterHeader became the single
source of truth for showing and clearing filters. It is here because the kit's promise runs the
other way round — a NEW dashboard mounts kit components, so waiting for a second consumer before
providing the first one is a deadlock. The honest consequence is written down too: a passing gate
means "it mounts and degrades", not "it looks right", and nobody has SEEN this component since the
dedup. Whoever wires it in is its first real reader, and must not mount it beside a
SearchFilterHeader that is already showing chips.

check:legend-mirrors grows arm 5, and it asserts the two things a "move" gets wrong that reading the
new file cannot show: that the OLD copy is actually gone (a move that leaves the original behind is a
copy, and two chip bars over one filterSet drift the moment one is edited — this tree has already
paid that with useNeighborT/usePplrT at Jaccard 0.82), and that the UNCONFIGURED behaviour is right,
which no dashboard here would reveal because they all supply a resolver. The default is LIFTED out of
the source and RUN, the way arm 3 drives the rail's fallbacks — not mounted, because a no-op renderer
cannot show a chip and the rendered result is rega's. Five mutants, all caught: old copy left behind,
the join reverted to 4b's bare value, a dead inject re-added, the supplied resolver ignored, and a
relative import restored.

The barrel re-exports from the library for one cycle, so no consumer's import line changes in the
same landing that moves the file. documentation/reference-library-index.md regenerated, per landing.

PARENTED ON a285e06c (4b), not on main, because 4b edits this same file — landing them the other way
round would revert 4b's inversion. Source only: research-dashboard and dashboard-plus-grid need a
rebuild.

25c102f5cd Kit 4c-1: the counting half, and the bucket that said "Other" in every locale
useDashboardAggregations has a split personality, and only half of it could ever
move. `lbl` and `aggregate` are pure counting — eleven lines, a Map, a sort, a
topN rollup, no facet name and no colour. Everything else in that file is
research: `colorFor` with its hardcoded religion / wagf_region / affinity_bloc
branches, the religion palettes, the donut and bar builders. Those stay, and
DashboardChartsRail keeps importing them.

The generic pair was what blocked kit landing 4c: the facet rail needs only that
half, and while it lived beside the palettes the rail could not follow it into the
library. Same split, same one-cycle re-export as 4a. Bodies verbatim.

★ AND THE ROLLUP BUCKET SAID "Other" IN EVERY LOCALE. aggregate() pushes
`{ key: 'Other', other: true }` for the tail, and that English word was rendered
directly by the facet rail and the charts rail. check:i18n-keys-exist could not
see it, because there was no T() call to inspect — the string was never a lookup,
it was a KEY being used as a LABEL. I found it while ASSESSING this landing rather
than while doing it, and it is fixed here rather than later for one reason: the
moment this module becomes kit code, an unfixed bug in it is exported to every
dashboard built from the kit.

THE TWO HALVES PULL IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS, which is the whole difficulty. The KEY
must stay English: the rail tests it to make the row inert, and the charts rail
refuses to filter on it, so a localized key would make the bucket CLICKABLE in
Arabic and filter on a value no row carries — an empty board, reading as a data
problem. The LABEL must not stay English. So OTHER_KEY is the sentinel,
otherLabel() reads dashboard.other, and they live next to the function that
produces the bucket so they cannot drift. Eleven locales, catalogue first.

This is the value/label trap for the third time — religion families, the language
tiers, and now a bucket in generic code. The third is the worst place for it,
which is why the rule now travels WITH the code that creates the value rather than
being remembered at each render site.

check:legend-mirrors grows arm 4, asserting both directions: translate the
sentinel and it fails; render the key instead of the label and it fails. Both
mutants run.

check-one-palette now scans the new module as well. Its subject — private palette
declarations — stayed in the plugin half, so nothing moved; adding the library
path means a palette smuggled into kit code later is caught by the same rule
instead of escaping into the library.

22dc3ed770 Kit landing 4b: the rail stops reaching for research colours
The facet rail and the chip bar imported useTreeLegendColors and
useTreeLegendLabels — the DOXA palettes and the People code tables. Those are
research-specific by this kit's own reckoning and they STAY in plugin-designs, so
that import is precisely what stopped the rail from being able to move into the
kit at all: a library component importing a plugin composable is what
check:no-cross-plugin-imports refuses, and rightly.

So the dependency inverts rather than the file moving. The panels declare what
they need — two functions — and the SHELL supplies them as
dashboardConfig.legend. The shell is the right supplier because it is the only
thing that already holds the config, the dataStore and the source id those
composables require, and because a composable cannot be called at config-module
scope.

ON dashboardConfig, NOT A NEW INJECT KEY, because section 5.1 of the spec says a
panel needing a new capability gets a new CONFIG key and never a new channel. It
would have been easy to add a seventh inject key and quietly exempt myself from a
rule I wrote; the rule is better than the exception. Merged rather than assigned,
so a profile supplying its own legend wins.

THE NO-LEGEND STATE IS HONEST, NOT A CRASH. A dashboard that supplies nothing
gets uncoloured swatches and raw values — which is what go-int sees before it
wires its palette, and a half-configured dashboard should look PLAIN rather than
broken. The kit's neutral is its OWN constant and deliberately not the research
palette's NEUTRAL, which happens to hold the same value today: importing it to
save a literal would re-create the dependency this landing removes, and the
research palette must stay free to change its own neutral without reaching in
here.

Big Picture is unchanged because the fallbacks fire only when legend is ABSENT,
and for Big Picture the shell always supplies it. Every hex still comes from the
same strategy modules the map's pins paint with, so the legend still cannot drift
from the map — it is handed the strategies instead of fetching them.

check:legend-mirrors grows arm 3: the research imports are gone, cfg.legend is
read, and the two no-legend fallbacks are LIFTED OUT OF THE SFC AND DRIVEN, so
"neutral swatch and raw value" is measured rather than asserted. Three mutants,
all caught. What it deliberately does NOT do is mount the component — a no-op
renderer cannot show a colour, so a mount would prove only "it did not throw" at
the cost of a dev server in a gate that runs in milliseconds. The rendered result
is rega's.

★ AND MY OWN CHECK FAILED ON MY OWN COMMENT, FOR THE FIFTH TIME. The comment
beside the kit's neutral explains the decision by NAMING the research NEUTRAL, so
testing raw source reported a coupling that does not exist. I had already fixed
that shape four times in other gates and still wrote the raw-source version here,
which says the fix belongs in a habit rather than in each gate: every text search
over source strips comments first, without thinking about it.

281f9d1def The search chip was the one chip still in English, and the string for it already existed
DashboardResearchFilters builds the :active-chips array the live strip renders, and its search chip
read `Search: ${term}` — a raw English label sitting beside six localized facet chips in all ten
non-English locales. dashboard.search_live was already in the catalogue, in all eleven locales,
written for that exact line and never wired.

The punctuation is why it has to come from the catalogue rather than be assembled here: French is
"Recherche : {term}", with a narrow space before the colon, and Chinese is "搜索:{term}" with a
full-width one. Translating the word and composing the colon in code gets both of those wrong even
with a correct translation. tStatic takes no params, so {term} is filled at the call site.

Also closes a LATENT gap beside it: an array value is a multi-value filter (D1), labelFor() joins one
for display at its single owner, but the prayer arm skips labelFor deliberately — its values are
already human labels — so it skipped the join too and a two-value pick would have read "A,B" with no
spacing. Nothing in this plugin calls toggleFilterValue, so no caller produces a prayer array today;
it is closed because the next caller that does would not think to look in a chip label for the reason.

check:dashboard-filter-a11y gains arm A13, and the arm is the part worth reading. Everything else in
that gate checks the chips where they are RENDERED; neither of those files is where the WORDS come
from, which is how an English label survived a gate written for this strip. A13 reads the computed
that builds the labels and allows an English literal only as the fallback of a catalogue read.

It also took two rounds, both caught by negative-testing rather than by review:
  1. it flagged '__search__', the chip's internal name — reporting an identifier as untranslated
prose, which is the crying-wolf failure arriving from the other direction. Now scoped to the
`label:` expression, by brace-balanced scan rather than by line.
  2. it then PASSED the real defect, because the English was in a TEMPLATE literal and the arm only
read '…' strings. A chip label is exactly where a template literal is natural, so the one shape
the defect actually takes was the one shape the arm could not see.
Verified failing on the restored defect ("Search: ") and passing on the fix.

2c5d9f47ec Two setup-time defects: a TDZ that blanked the map, and a cleanup that never ran
Both came from the Driver's console in the gallery's Simple Research tab, and both come from one
gap: where a line SITS in a setup block is not WHEN it runs.

research-map.vue — "Cannot access '_lastFitKey' before initialization", thrown during setup, which
left the map blank. The externalFilters watcher is immediate:true, so it runs while setup is still
on the stack and calls applyFitSlugs() 350 lines below it. The CALL resolved, because a function
declaration is hoisted; its constants are not, so the first read hit their temporal dead zone. A
hoisted function promises that its NAME resolves early, not that its BODY can run early, and that
asymmetry is invisible from both ends: the watcher looks like it only touches the store, and the
constants look like they sit right beside the function that reads them. They and the guard now sit
above the watcher, with a note saying why they cannot live next to applyFitSlugs().

DashboardMapPanel.vue — "onBeforeUnmount is called when there is no active component instance".
A lifecycle registrar closes over Vue's current instance, which exists only while setup is on the
stack, so a hook registered after "await initializeMap()" is silently dropped: a ResizeObserver on
document.body plus a window resize listener outlived the component. Nothing threw and the feature
worked, so it showed only as a studio that slowed down the more tabs a reader had visited. The fix
is not to move the line — the code that creates those handles is past the await either way. The
handles move to setup scope and are torn down in the hook this file already registers correctly,
which is the pattern it was using three lines away for containerRO and attribRO.

research-map.vue held a second copy of the same leak, its scroll-zoom resync listener. The new
gate found that one; reading the file had not.

check:setup-order covers both classes. Its own false positives are the instructive part: 6 hits
down to 1 over three rounds, and every one it dropped was prose or shadowing read as code — an
onBeforeUnmount inside a console.error STRING, the word "table" inside a new Error(...) template
literal in four files, and a destructured byCountry shadowing a computed 220 lines away. So it
blanks comments, string text and template text while keeping ${...}, which is code, and subtracts
every name a span declares for itself. It self-tests on both shipped defects, both fixes and all
three decoys, and exits 3 if an arm goes blind rather than passing quietly.

273785b2e6 The layout drag was LTR-only, and my own migration was too eager
go-int found both by reading the kit before importing it. Both are in landed code
and both reach Big Picture in Arabic, not only a new consumer.

THE DRAG HAD NO READING DIRECTION. facetW and railW were computed from
(clientX - startX), written once, in LTR. Under dir=rtl the grid mirrors — the
facet rail sits on the RIGHT — so dragging its handle toward the map moves clientX
the other way, and in Arabic the facet handle shrank the CHARTS rail. Both handles
fight and neither does what the cursor says. The delta now carries a sign read from
the computed direction per drag, not cached: a host can flip dir between gestures,
because our own composites set it on the custom-element host from the runtime
locale.
The ARROW KEYS take the same sign. If only the pointer mirrored, the two input
methods would disagree about which way widens — and aria-valuenow reports the same
ref for both, so the announced value would move opposite to the key for someone
who cannot see the drag.

AND THE LEGACY READ-THROUGH WAS MINE, FROM KIT LANDING 2. I added it so
namespacing would not discard a reader's saved layout, and applied it
unconditionally. So a caller passing its OWN storageKey — which is the entire point
of namespacing — still inherited Big Picture's rail widths on first load. The
migration written to protect one dashboard's layout was handing that layout to
every other dashboard. It is gated on the default key now, and the default is a
named constant rather than a repeated literal, because a fallback comparing against
a copy of its own default stops matching the day someone bumps the version suffix.

check:layout-key-namespaced grows arms D and E. D asserts BOTH widths take the sign
and that the arrows share it — mirroring one and not the other is worse than
mirroring neither, because then the handles disagree with each other. E asserts the
legacy read is gated. Comments are stripped before both assertions, for the reason
that is now written down four times over.

c2ab779623 Kit landing 4a: the shared search, because the facet rail cannot move yet
★ LANDING 4 AS I SCOPED IT IS NOT POSSIBLE, AND THE SPEC WAS WRONG ABOUT THAT.
go-int asked for the facet rail next and I agreed. Then the first step of a
landing — look before moving — found that DashboardFacetRail imports FOUR
plugin-local modules: useDashboardAggregations, useDashboardShell,
useTreeLegendColors and useTreeLegendLabels. Moving the rail into library/ would
have made a library component import plugin composables, which
check:no-cross-plugin-imports rightly refuses. And two of those four are
research-specific by my own spec's reckoning — useTreeLegendColors carries the
DOXA colour strategies and is supposed to STAY in the plugin — so the rail cannot
become library code by moving alone. Its colour and label dependencies have to be
inverted into injection first, which section 8 named as a risk and then ordered as
if it were free.

So landing 4 is three commits, not one, and this is the first: the piece the rail
stands on.

THE SEARCH WAS NEVER A SHELL CONCERN. buildSearchAccessors, makeSearchMatcher and
filterRowsBySearch were exported from useDashboardShell, and EIGHT files reached
into the shell to get them — the table, the map panel, the charts rail, the facet
rail, the research filters, the top bar, the profile and the config. A module that
eight things import is a module, not a corner of another one. Nothing in it is
domain-specific: the accessors come from config.facets / config.columns /
config.searchKeys, and the matching comes from the already-shared fuzzy.js.

Bodies are verbatim; this is a move. The shell re-exports the three names for one
cycle, so none of the eight importers changes in this commit — a barrel line
rather than a shim file, so there is nothing to delete later, only a line to
remove when the eight point at the library directly.

The now-dead fuzzy.js import is removed from the shell rather than left. An import
nothing uses is the kind of thing that survives three more landings because it
looks load-bearing.

WHAT THIS DELIBERATELY DOES NOT TOUCH: the shell keeps rowMatchesFilters and the
URL-hash escape helpers, which are what check:filter-multivalue reads out of it by
path. I checked that before slicing, so no gate path moves in this commit.

Library index regenerated in-commit. Source only; no rebuild needed beyond the
usual, since every importer still resolves through the shell.

15820f1432 Dashboard kit, landing 3: the camera and the CSV exporter
Both are zero-domain in the sense the spec meant: they import only `vue` and read
rows through accessors. Bodies are what research-dashboard shipped apart from the
two parameters the spec named and one policy object, and the old paths re-export
for one cycle.

★ THE FIRST STEP FOUND TWO GATES THAT READ THESE FILES BY PATH, which is why it is
now the first step. Landing 1 nearly disarmed check-facet-cascade the same way.
internal/check-csv-export-shape.mjs does not import useCsvExport; it READS the
source and extracts esc() out of it. Left at the plugin path it would have read
the one-line shim, found no esc(), and failed with "could not extract esc()" — a
gate accusing a working exporter because its subject moved.
check-filter-multivalue.mjs — MINE — lists the same file in its PANELS array.
Left at the plugin path it would have read the shim, found no predicate to
object to, and PASSED VACUOUSLY. That is worse: a gate going quiet about the
thing it guards. Both move in this commit.

THE COORDINATE IS A PARAMETER; WHAT MAKES A COORDINATE VALID IS NOT. `coords`
replaces only the READ of row.longitude / row.latitude, which is pray-tools'
spelling and not a universal one. Every guard stays shared: Number() on API
strings, 0 accepted per axis, the exact 0,0 null-island sentinel rejected, the
out-of-range check. A kit that let each caller re-implement that validation would
hand the next dashboard the same four bugs to rediscover.

★ AND THE OPTION WAS DEAD WHEN I FIRST WROTE IT. `coords` was accepted in the
signature and never passed to selectionBounds, so a caller could set it,
type-check clean, build clean, and watch it do nothing. This tree has paid for
that shape before — a defineProps on a component the custom element never binds —
and it is worse than a missing feature because it READS as supported. Nobody files
a bug against a knob they assume they misused. check:kit-options-reachable now
asserts, across all four shared composables, that every option accepted is used.

THE CAMERA'S EIGHT CONSTANTS ARE ONE DECISION, so CAMERA_POLICY exports them
together. The failure that prevents is a second dashboard re-picking them one at a
time and arriving at a camera that feels different from Big Picture's for no reason
anybody wrote down. It is read-only and deliberately not yet overridable: making
each a per-caller option means threading eight of them through every use, and no
consumer has asked for a different camera. Exporting the decision so it can be
cited is the half with a use today; saying so is better than shipping eight
options nobody passes.

THE EXPORTER GAINS exportLabel and sources. "Research Dashboard" was this
dashboard's name, and the provenance line said nothing about where the data came
from — which is what a provenance line is for. Both default to today's output, to
the byte.

★ AND THE NEW GATE HAD THE COMMENT HOLE TWICE IN ONE SITTING. First it searched
the raw body, and the comment beside the fixed call site says "`coords` IS PASSED
HERE" — so the mutant that removed the argument left it green. Then, stripping
comments only per-part, it split the signature's comment PROSE on commas and
reported that useCsvExport accepts `and`. Comments are text; every text search has
to say so, in both directions. That is the fourth variant of one mistake this
week, and all four were caught by running the mutant rather than by reading.

Library index regenerated in the same commit, 103 items. Source only.
STUDIO: needs a rebuild of research-dashboard and dashboard-plus-grid. The

A PHYSICAL INSET DOES NOT MIRROR. right:8px pins a box to the physical right edge
in every locale, so in Arabic it stays where an English reader expects it while
everything around it flips. Both surfaces the survey named are logical now, and
inset-inline-start:auto travels with inset-inline-end as a pair rather than as
decoration: it cancels a physical inset inherited from a control container, which
otherwise stretches the box across the map once the anchored edge moves.
The second surface is research-map's geocoder column, which studio found in its
own sweep. That column exists ONLY to share an x-edge with the legend below it —
the alignment is recorded in the file — and the legend already mirrored while the
search bar did not, so under ar the pair came apart and the bar was stranded on
the side the legend had vacated. A shared edge that one of the two honours is
worse than no alignment: it reads as a broken layout rather than as a choice.

THE ENGLISH WAS NOT CHROME, AND THAT CHANGES THE FIX ENTIRELY. The legend renders
a facet VALUE, and for the religion donut that value is a family name DERIVED in
English by library/colors/religion.js — the same table people-groups-grid
re-derives per row so the two ends byte-match. Translating those strings is the
obvious fix and the dangerous one: it would work in English and match nothing in
Arabic, SILENTLY, because an empty intersection reads as "no results". That is
the language-link defect one facet over, and it cost a card to learn the first
time.

So the value stays canonical English and only the visible text is projected, the
same rule the shareable URL follows, where the code is canonical and the slug is
display-only. religionFamilyLabel() lives beside the table it projects, so the
next consumer finds it rather than inventing a second spelling, and the table
itself now carries a comment saying these are values and must not be translated.
Ten family names in eleven locales, English wording held.

check:legend-mirrors guards both halves — and its own negative test found a hole
in it. A mutation aimed at the legend's data-key silently hit a DIFFERENT
:data-key, the donut segment, and the gate stayed green while a projection sat on
a wire. There are three such bindings and it was guarding one. It now checks
every :data-key and :data-facet in the file; all three mutants are caught.

★ AND I BROKE THE FILE'S PARSE ON THE WAY, worth recording because the rule is
already written down. I used backticks around CSS property names in a comment
that lives INSIDE a shadow-CSS template literal, where a backtick ends the
literal and everything after it is read as code. check:sfc-parse and
check:no-free-identifiers both caught it immediately. The comment now says so, in
the file, without backticks.

Source only. STUDIO: needs a rebuild of research-dashboard, dashboard-plus-grid,
doxa-research-map and research-map-plus-grid.

4f3a954b9a Gate 9 was accusing a working map: ask the engine, not the DOM
rega's gates:post run reported this gate failing its mapbox half — "NO map
constructed", 21 api.mapbox.com requests, 0 bars. Two theories followed and both
were wrong, mine included. rega then MEASURED the leaf on both token rungs: 1
Mapbox map, 2 GL canvases, 3 visible search inputs, 0 page errors, via the host
global AND via ?tk=. The product was never at fault. This gate's detection was.

THE MAP PROBE WALKED THE DOM FOR A CANVAS. That is a chain of assumptions — every
shadow root open, the canvas carrying the class I expected, existing by the time
I looked — and when any link breaks the probe reports ABSENCE, which is
indistinguishable from a broken product. It now hooks the engine's own
Map.prototype.setStyle through both globals, which cannot be wrong about the DOM
because it never looks at it. Both globals, because the leaf loads only the
engine its provider asks for; the property is defined with a setter so the hook
survives the engine script loading afterwards, and the whole thing is wrapped so
a hook can never be the reason a page fails. The canvas walk stays as a second
opinion, so an engine that stops routing through setStyle degrades to the old
behaviour rather than accusing the product again.

THE BAR SELECTOR MATCHED ONE CLASS. input.mapboxgl-ctrl-geocoder--input, and
nothing else — so it reported 0 bars on a page carrying three visible search
inputs. Whether the miss was the class or the shadow walk cannot be told from
here, and that is exactly the problem: a selector narrow enough that one wrong
assumption yields ZERO will accuse the product of being broken when it is only
wrong about a name. It now counts what a reader would call a search box.

Both probes are borrowed from rega's tokrung.mjs, which measured this leaf
correctly while this gate did not. Where a positive control exists that measures
correctly, copy the control.

IT STILL MEASURES BOTH TOKEN RUNGS, per studio. The ?tk= theory turned out to be
wrong, but the two cases are worth keeping on their own merit: the host global is
the rung an embedding partner reaches for, and if the two ever diverge the gate
now says which one failed instead of leaving a channel switch to look like a fix.
Rejected api.mapbox.com responses are recorded too, so "requests but no map" can
be told apart from a refused key — a 401 says the key, not the code.

THE LESSON, recorded in the header because this is the second time in two days
that a probe of mine accused a working product: a measurement that yields ZERO
when its own assumption is wrong will always blame the thing it is measuring.

Source only; this commit edits one gate and changes no product code. I cannot run
it — Playwright is rega's.

7f3435cc1b Delete the selection-bus shim: its one cycle is over
Landing 1 left plugin-designs/research-dashboard/src/composables/useSelectionBus.js
re-exporting the moved file, so the move and its consumers did not have to land
together. Both consumers moved in that same landing — useDashboardShell's import
and check-facet-cascade's BUS_SRC — so the shim has had zero importers ever
since. Measured before deleting: a search across plugin-designs, library and
internal finds two references to useSelectionBus and both name the LIBRARY path.

A re-export with no importers is not harmless. It is a second entry point that
reads like a supported one, and the next author who finds it has no way to tell
that it is scaffolding rather than the plugin-local home of the bus.

★ HOLD THIS COMMIT UNTIL 2bb90852 IS ON MAIN. It is deliberately the tip of the
stack and touches nothing else, so it can be dropped or deferred on its own. If
landing 1 is not in main, the file this deletes is the only thing making the old
import path resolve.

Landing 2's own shim (useDashboardLayout) STAYS for one more cycle, on the same
rule that earned this one its deletion: it is one landing old, and it gets the
same measured check before it goes.
