"the element gets the tk to the element itself and does not need to only
gatekeep that to one component only — all components in a plugin can share
that tk" (Driver, 2026-09-23).
Inside ONE element that was already true: ProfileLoader provides
'mapboxToken' and eleven components inject it. The gate is the ELEMENT
BOUNDARY — every custom element mounts its own app with its own
ProfileLoader, which re-derives the token from its own profile-config, so a
composite that nests a real map hands the child nothing.
THE EXISTING FALLBACK COULD NOT FIRE. The ladder already read
window.MAP_TOKEN. MEASURED: that global IS set on the composite leaf and
the child still had no search bar — because the ladder lives in a
computed() and window.MAP_TOKEN is a plain global, not a reactive source.
The composite leaf FETCHES its token, so the computed resolved '' first,
cached, and never re-ran. useSharedMapToken makes it a ref that updates on
publish, and assignments to window.MAP_TOKEN are adopted through an
accessor, so already-generated pages keep working untouched. Storage lives
on window and changes travel as an event: each bundle is its own IIFE, so a
module-level ref is NOT shared between a composite and the bundle it nests.
THAT WAS NECESSARY AND NOT SUFFICIENT, which only measuring showed. With
the token shared and reactive the bar was STILL absent. Real cause:
GeocoderComponent's onMounted hit `typeof MapboxGeocoder === 'undefined'`
and RETURNED SILENTLY — no throw, no console error, no DOM. MapboxGeocoder
is "preloaded via index.html", true for a LEAF and false for a COMPOSITE
leaf, which generate-tree classifies as token-free while it goes on to nest
a real map. Measured, mapbox-gl-geocoder references per page: research-map
leaf 2, research-map-plus-grid leaf 0.
So the script is now fetched on demand when a host did not preload it,
reusing the exact shape the maplibre path already had (one loader, two
callers) and pinned to the same v5.0.0 the leaves preload. It resolves on
error as well as load, so a blocked CDN leaves the map usable and the bar
absent rather than hanging. This fixes every already-generated page without
regenerating any of them.
MEASURED on the built tree:
leaf mapbox search@56 legend@104
leaf maplibre search@NONE legend@58 (unchanged: maplibre stays bar-free)
composite search@56 legend@104 (was NONE)
library/ reaches every bundle, so all 22 rebuilt: 22/22, 7/7 pre, 18/18
post, and a browser sweep of five StackLayout consumers plus all seven
studio dashboards.
Driver: 'if I search the name of the country and add n to it, like
Austrian or Canadian, I would like for there to be a selection of that
country -- the table under the map shows the result for that country.'
Three changes, one ladder:
1. resolveFuzzyValues(): WHOLE-VALUE Levenshtein against the DISTINCT
values of every search key -- 'Sudann' is a misspelling of the
VALUE 'Sudan', so the rows returned are exactly Sudan's, identical
to picking it as a Place. The windowed matcher stays only as the
final rescue tier.
2. Best match wins: only the minimal-distance value(s) resolve. The
under-the-cap union admitted 47 rows for 'Canadian'.
3. Both fuzzy tiers cap at 2 edits absolute (the did-you-mean bound);
threshold*len alone reached 3 errors at 8+ chars, which is where
the cross-facet noise lived.
Measured (dashboard scope / grid count agree): Sudann -> 105/105
Sudan only; Indonesa -> 36/36 Indonesia; Banladesh -> 3/3 Bangladesh;
Bhutann -> 13/13 Bhutan; exact terms unchanged (tier 1).
NOTE: Canada/Austria themselves have NO rows in this dataset (it
holds only the 175 countries with unreached people groups), so
'Canadian'/'Austrian' cannot select them -- a handful of genuine
2-edit neighbours return instead.
Also ships @map/composables/retryableAsyncComponent.js wired at every
defineAsyncComponent site (ProfileLoader chokepoint + 8 lazy
components): a transient ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED no longer permanently
kills a lazy plugin (3 retries, growing backoff). Live fault-injection
proof pending; the wrapper is the documented Vue onError contract.
Sixteen source files from five agents, all verified against source gates
before commit: template-literal, sfc-parse, kpi-unit, composite-reg,
facet-cascade, one-palette, script-flags, no-public-binds, no-orphan-gates and
quoted-scripts all pass. public-hygiene reports 0 findings.
Colour. The choropleth ramp is now derived by interpolating the product's own
tokens (surface #f3f3f1 to accent #92b195) rather than adding a sixth grey, and
that fixes a pincer the earlier research had not named: on the old grey-to-black
ramp the navy dot and the white ring failed at OPPOSITE ends, so no fixed pin
colour could win. Worst-case dot contrast moves 1.13 to 7.29. Second-order
breaks fixed with it -- the country outline would have measured 1.08-1.82 as
white on the pale fill, so it is #6d766e at 2.59-4.34, and the legend swatch
border.
Religion colours no longer key by array index. colorFor takes no index at all;
colour comes from the registry by facet plus value. All 31 distinct live
religion labels now match the map, 0 mismatches. Tree-rail grey rows 142 to 0
against the live 2,107-row API.
Cascade. Clearing a parent facet now clears its descendants, in the selection
bus rather than in any component, because every clear path already funnels
through setFilter/clearFilters -- a component fix would have fixed one button
and left four. The hierarchy is derived from config.facetRail[].drill, so it
cannot drift from the tiers the rail renders. Place turned out to be three deep
(region, block, country), not two.
Rails. Tree rows wrapping 18/66 to 3/66; the tree rail is now the wider of the
two at 296 vs 264, with the map cell unchanged because both pairs sum to 560.
Also lands the shell scroll fix and the facet-cascade gate with its committed
fixture -- 73 sampled rows, no network, so the assertion that reproduces the
empty map runs on a fresh clone instead of silently skipping.
ROOT CAUSE, proven by interception rather than inference. A COMPOSITE leaf whose
own root paints no tiles is generated TOKEN_FREE, so its page calls mount('') and
the "tk: token" assignment never runs. Intercepting setAttribute BEFORE Vue could
consume it showed profile-config arriving with keys profile/dataSource/
instanceId/assetsBase and NO tk. ProfileLoader then computed '' and provided it
to every child, so a map nested INSIDE the composite got an empty accessToken and
logged "No Mapbox access token provided" - the error reported at
dashboard-plus-grid.js:605.
The generator assumed a composite's nested maps each render in their own iframe
leaf running its own token ladder. That is false for dashboard-plus-grid: zero
iframes, and ResearchDashboard / PeopleGroupsGrid are imported as COMPONENTS, so
the nested map runs inside the shell page and needs the token the shell withholds.
ProfileLoader now falls back to window.MAP_TOKEN when config.tk is absent.
STRICTLY ADDITIVE: 10 components inject mapboxToken and today all receive ''
whenever tk is missing; now they receive the real token. An empty string becoming
a valid token cannot break a map that already worked.
Verified: the nested map inside dashboard-plus-grid now carries a real
accessToken instead of ''. Negative-tested both ways - an explicit ?tk= still
WINS over the global (per-instance precedence intact), and with no token anywhere
the code still logs "No Mapbox access token provided" rather than silently
pretending. Full build ALL GUARDS PASS, SRI consistent.
This does not make the generator's classifier correct; see
BUG-COMPOSITE-LEAVES-ARE-TOKEN-FREE-BUT-NEST-REAL-MAPS for the deeper fix.
Driver 2026-09-21: 'a folder called deployment which will store the capacitor
folder, wordpress folder and tauri folder', and 'a folder called documentation
to store the contributing folder so docs are in one place'.
docs/ + contributing/ + CONTRIBUTING.md -> documentation/ (three doc homes into
one). capacitor/ + wordpress/ + src-tauri/ -> deployment/.
The public/ -> dist/ rename the Driver asked about is NOT here: after seeing the
measured blast radius (855 tracked files, 54 source refs, and public/ is the
served web-root four consumers point at) the Driver withdrew it - 'keep the
public folder the same'.
Path references were rewritten mechanically (258 across 87 files), but three
classes needed hand fixes because a prefix regex cannot see them:
- join(ROOT,'docs',...) in 10 internal scripts - a quoted SEGMENT, not a prefix
- tauri frontendDist '../public' -> '../../public', since src-tauri is now one
level deeper; check:tauri caught this exactly as the card predicted
- the WordPress contract test's dirname(__DIR__,2) -> 3, same reason
Also reverted one over-reach: the rewrite renamed a FINDING-CATEGORY label
'docs' in public-hygiene-check.mjs, which is a rule name in its own header, not
a path.
Verified: full build ALL GUARDS PASS, SRI consistent; check:tauri, check:mobile
(cap sync + webDir OK), check:wp-embed, quoted-scripts, capability-citations,
capability-exemplars, library-index, public-hygiene, parse and drop all pass.
- Compile-time gate __DOXA_QA__ (default off): the QA corner and every string
it carries are dead-code-eliminated from public bundles; platform builds
opt in with DOXA_QA=1. Shell QA becomes ?qa=1 opt-in. Audit: zero platform
strings across all bundles + shell.
- One Mapbox wordmark per page (first live map claims it; released on destroy).
- Coach-mark points at the need: 'Tap a red dot — someone still needs prayer.'
- Pray-click glow: locally-prayed groups render as Has Prayer for that visitor
(localStorage, 7-day TTL) — lasting glow comes from the real signup via the API.
- Staging forge gains 'copy embed': snippet built at click time from
location.href, so it carries the FULL URL of whatever host serves the tree.
library/components/hints/PinHint.vue — a tasteful pill ('Tap a glowing dot — meet
a people group') that teaches the one gesture behind every conversion: tap a pin
-> detail card -> Pray (utm-attributed). Self-gates on a real map canvas in the
shadow root (lists/tables never see it), shows once per session, dismisses on
first map touch / x / 14s, honors prefers-reduced-motion, dark-aware. Default ON;
opt-out profile-config pinHint:false; label override pinHintLabel. Wired in
ProfileLoader; visually verified live.
Adds library/components/qa/QaCorner.vue — a bottom-right floating 'QA' button +
panel (OIDC-onboarding shell: 'Log in with Nuxtinator', no key), rendered by
ProfileLoader over any profile. OPT-IN via profile-config.qa (default OFF) so the
same bundles that power partner embeds never show a QA button; the SPA shell sets
qa:true on every mount so it appears on all maps in the power app. Backend (qhoot /
nuxtbase-baas agent bridge + MCP) wired in a later pass — this is the visible shell.

Three fixes for the power-app SPA running as a go-base plugin (sandboxed
iframe, origin 'null' — where localStorage throws and root-absolute asset
paths misresolve under the /plugin-assets/<name>/ subpath):
- localStorage: wrap every theme/preference read+write in try/catch across
the library (ProfileLoader, useMapTheme, uiStore). `typeof localStorage`
is not enough — in a sandbox the object exists but ACCESS throws
SecurityError. Sandboxed maps now boot themeless instead of crashing.
- assets: the SPA shell now injects an absolute assetsBase (derived from its
own document.baseURI) into every mounted element's profile-config, so
bundles fetch tables/vendor (Tabulator) from the correct subpath instead
of a root-absolute /assets that 404s under /plugin-assets/doxa-maps-spa/.
- nav: revert the Prayer Mobilization section icon to 'heart' (the prayer
glyph read as a header it is not).
Rebuilds every bundle (library-wide localStorage change).
