The last bundle of the L1 pass: key-cities had no i18n at all though its entry installs it. A new
keyCities area (38 keys, all 11 locales) carries the map title, band legend, caveats, the city
sheet's labels, the list's intro, filters and section lines, the data tables' title, intro, tabs and
loading line, and the poster wall's heading, tag, nouns and "coming soon" message. Unnamed places
keep showing coordinates, now inside a translated phrase. Counts use a "label: n" form outside English
and numbers keep their existing format (numerals held). cities-map's script message goes through a
guarded useI18n with the English catalog as fallback.
check:i18n-parity PASS; placeholders match English in every locale; the bundle builds.
A library catalog change: studio lands it (rule 5B).
needs eyes: key-cities (gated) with ?lang=ar: the map legend, a city sheet, and the list.
(cherry picked from commit 7d4da13721)
Both raw maps read profileConfig.tk || window.DOXA_TOKEN. DOXA_TOKEN is set only by a few dev
pages, so in the Plugin Studio and on every built page these maps ignored the page's token
(window.MAP_TOKEN, the shared token). They now take profile-config tk, then ProfileLoader's
injected mapboxToken, then window.MAP_TOKEN, as the universal-props contract says. Found by the
draft check:universal-props (TOK-GLOBAL). Headless: both bundles build, and DOXA_TOKEN no longer
appears in either shipped file.
These two maps build `new gl.Map` directly, so they never got useMapInstance's RTL install, and
their bundle entries registered nothing either. The basemap draws each place in its OWN script,
so over the Middle East most labels are Arabic, Persian or Hebrew for EVERY viewer: they were
drawn as disconnected glyphs in the wrong order. installRtlTextPlugin(gl) now runs after the
engine global resolves and before new gl.Map (an entry-time call cannot work once the engine is
injected lazily).
Gate: check:rtl-raw (+ :poison), gospel's check-gospel-rtl-shaping method (pan to Arabia first;
no RTL label on screen is NOT MEASURED; one defineProperty per global for hook + poison) over
cities-internet on both engines and key-cities (Mapbox-only, gated, no leaf: mounted on a
same-origin host page). The shared gate's --leaf argument can replace the cities rows once it
lands; the key-cities host page still needs this one.
Measured: before, cities-internet mapbox 58 RTL labels with the shaper 'unavailable' and maplibre
62 stuck at 'requested', both unshaped; after, shaper 'loaded' on both, and key-cities 56 RTL
labels shaped. Poison: 3/3 rows caught.
Every generated leaf <head> preloaded mapbox-gl.js whatever the provider, so code that used the
bare `mapboxgl` global always found one, even on a MapLibre map. Removing that peer (it sends
every visitor's IP to Mapbox under provider=maplibre) turns each such site into an error.
engineFor(map), next to isMapboxMap in useMapProvider.js, asks the map which engine built it:
- useSelectedPin: the selected-pin Marker
- useMapEvents: the pin-fallback and region Popups
- useMapPoster: main already builds the hidden map with the source map's engine (1cbfb3aa);
its choice now goes through this one helper instead of a second inline sniff
- pplr-data-maps: glFor is now this helper; the geocoder awaits ensureEngineScript first
- key-cities: ensureEngineScript('mapbox') before reading the global
Measured with every api.mapbox.com tag stripped from the served leaf (no peer at all for
key-cities), before -> after:
pin select under MapLibre, on cities-internet, country-posters, doxa-research-map and
doxa-simple-map: "reading 'Marker'" -> marker drawn; country-posters region popup: none ->
popup; PPLR search: no input -> suggestions (both engines); key-cities: "mapbox-gl not
loaded" -> map loaded. Mapbox rows unchanged (they passed before and after).
The poster UI could not be driven: PosterDialog never opens in country-posters or
doxa-research-map (they pass props it does not declare and no modelValue/getMap), reported
separately. useMapPoster itself was rendered from a real map with only its engine on the page:
MapLibre "mapboxgl global not found" on the pre-1cbfb3aa library -> a 400x300 PNG with 88 colours.
library/maps/label-font.js picks a symbol layer's text-font by engine: Noto Sans
(Regular, or Bold for medium/bold) under MapLibre, which is what OpenFreeMap
serves, and exactly the caller's fonts under Mapbox. Mapbox maps render as
before.
useMapClustering hard-coded 'DIN Offc Pro Medium, Arial Unicode MS Bold', which
OpenFreeMap does not have. Under MapLibre every native cluster count requested
it and got a 404; MapLibre then drew the counts in its fallback weight instead
of the intended bold. It now uses the helper, as do upg-neighbor (replacing its
own copy), prayer-walk-planner, and key-cities' city-name labels, which named no
font and so asked for MapLibre's default (also a 404 on OpenFreeMap).
Measured by importing the real composable in a browser, 3,000 points in native
mode:
- main under MapLibre: 1 glyph 404 (DIN Offc Pro Medium,Arial Unicode MS Bold),
and the counts drawn in the fallback weight;
- this change under MapLibre: 0 glyph 404s, text-font Noto Sans Bold, 22
clusters with counts in bold;
- this change under Mapbox: text-font still exactly DIN Offc Pro Medium /
Arial Unicode MS Bold.
No production map reaches native cluster counts today (Simple Research and
Country Posters force the 'mst' line mode), so this was latent in shared code.
Correction to b1e0c7fa: it said those labels "drew nothing". The screenshots here
show MapLibre falls back and draws them. The defect was the failed glyph request
on every load and the wrong weight, not missing text.
Rebuilt: country-posters, doxa-research-map, upg-neighbor, prayer-walk-planner,
key-cities.
data-private/ was a TRACKED folder, so field-access-visas.json would ship
with the repo the moment it goes public. A tracked folder is not private.
The table generator no longer writes inside the checkout: private tables go
to DOXA_PRIVATE_DIR (a folder outside the repo) or are skipped. data-private/
is gitignored so it cannot be re-created by accident.
The file is removed from HEAD only; it is still in history (5 commits).
Publish from fresh history or scrub it before the repo goes public.
The field-access-visas table (580 KB -- how workers enter closed
countries) was found PUBLIC in three copies and LIVE-SERVED at 200:
the key-cities bundle data dir, the research out/ dir, and a stale
staging tree inside the served catalog. Root cause: emit() enforced
PRIVATE_TABLES but the ROUTE bundle-copy loop did not -- a privacy
rule enforced at one of two writers is not a rule. The loop now skips
PRIVATE_TABLES; the redundant source copies are deleted (data-private/
keeps the one canonical file); and the hygiene gate flags the
filename and visa_ fields as HARD findings in every mode -- this data
class never rides the strict-tier softening.
All three public copies and the live URL were purged first and
verified 404 by anonymous fetch before this commit.
Eleven profiles across six bundles each carried the same line:
profileConfig?.assetsBase || './assets'
That default is right on a standalone leaf page, where the generated host passes
'../../assets' and the tree root is two segments up. It is wrong the moment the
element is nested in the cap-5 shell, because a relative path resolves against
the SHELL's page, not the child's. Measured in a browser on the built tree:
leaf /doxa-maps/gospel-resources/resources-map/index.html ... 0 failed
shell /doxa-maps/doxa-maps-spa/doxa-maps-spa/index.html ...... 404 assets/tables/gospel-by-country.json
404 assets/boundaries/world-adm0.geojson
No build-time gate could see it: './assets' is a valid string in both hosts, and
only the host decides what it resolves to. check-composite-srcs proves a nested
src exists on disk, which is a different question.
resolveAssetsBase() in library/utils/embedBase.js now derives an absolute base
from the bundle's own script URL (or the treeBase the shell already forwards),
and deliberately REJECTS a relative assetsBase from config -- honouring it would
reintroduce the defect through the config meant to cure it.
The fix is in the child, not the shell, so a new bundle that fetches assets
works nested on day one with no edit to doxa-maps-spa.vue.
Verified: shell 404s 2 -> 0 on Gospel Resources; Cities & Internet, UPG-100 and
Big Picture also 0 asset 404s; leaf hosts unchanged at 0.
