MATTHEW 9:36
Jesus’ Strategy to Feed the 5000
What is a Prayer List of 100 UPG?
Jesus’ disciples faced a similar challenge: “How can we feed so many with only five loaves and two fish?” Jesus
fed the 5,000 by supernaturally multiplying that small offering — and His answer holds the key to our people-groups
problem.
Through radical faith and miracle-expectant prayer, He focused on the few in front of Him — dividing the crowd and
entrusting faithful men and women to serve the most strategic groups of fifties and hundreds (Mark 6:40).
This map is one of a 30-map set called the List of 100 UPG's — a large, overwhelming target in the thousands,
organised into clear groupings and displayed on maps and prayer lists.
Each map comes with a prayer list of its fifty to a hundred people groups — their names, a representative photo, and
more detail — to mobilise informed intercession.
How can we multiply indigenous disciples, churches and leaders among all these people groups — and get the gospel into their own language?
Start with Prayer!
1 · Thirty disciples.
Each follower of Jesus takes
their own map and prayer list, and sets apart a place
to pray — some have hung a people-group map over
their bed.
2 · Thirty churches.
Each church dedicates a wall in
one of its places of prayer, and keeps copies of the
prayer list available for distribution.
3 · Thirty indigenous leaders.
Find leaders on the
ground in these areas and give them the map and
prayer list, to raise awareness of their unengaged
neighbours.
“And they sat down in groups, by hundreds and by fifties.”
Mark 6:40
