At rest on a phone the search row sits where the gallery's 44px ☰ circle lands (bottom-left, or bottom-right in Arabic), so the circle covered the start of the search box. The row now starts at --map-fab-beside, which the layout publishes only while the circle shows. Everywhere else the value is 0, so the change does nothing until the circle comes back. |
